Untuk mewujudkan gaya tropis pada tata ruang, dapat dipergunakan furnitur atau elemen ruangan yang terbuat dari tumbuhan. Misalnya, gunakan kursi makan dari anyaman rotan. Atau gunakan palang kayu berjajar pada langit-langit. Palang-palang kayu ini dapat dipasang padabagian bawah skylight sehingga dapat membuat cahaya matahari masuk ke dalam ruangan dan memberikan efek bayangan yang dramatis.
Ketika ingin membuat ruang yang agak lebih terbuka, pada dua sisi ruangan dapat dibuat bukaan yang lebar. Misalnya berupa jendela tinggi, dengan sistem putar atau pintu kaca dengan sistem lipat. Keduanya mengantarkan suasana luar ruang yang segar ke dalam ruangan.
Buka semua pintu dan jendela lebar-lebar selagi makan bersama keluarga. Biarkan angin semilir dan segarnya wangi tumbuhan menemani acara makan. Selesai makan, anak-anak bisa bermain di taman.
penambahan pintu dan jendela mungkin lebih terasa ruangan lebih sempit dengan menanbahkan pintu lipat yang terbuat dari sebagian besar kaca mungkin lebih cocok, sehingga ketika kita sedang berkumpul di area/ruangan tersebut yag menghadap ke taman pintu lipat tersebut dapat di buka dengan cara melipat .. sehingga ruangan terasa lebih luas dan semakin menyatu dengan taman
